From first-time beginners to nationally ranked competitors, Frisco Badminton Academy has a pathway for every player. Our coaches have trained Olympic and Paralympic medalists, current Team USA members, and BWF world-ranked players. Whether you are picking up a racket for the first time or chasing a national title, we will meet you where you are.

Training fees are separate from membership dues. All classes are in-person at the Frisco HQ.

Coaching Director
Former Head Coach of the USA National Men's Badminton Team. Led Team USA to its first-ever Paralympic medal at the Paris 2024 Games — a silver in SH6 Mixed Doubles won by Miles Krajewski and Jayci Simon, who then nominated Ahlawat for the Order of Ikkos, the USOPC's highest honor for a coach. First coach of Indian origin to receive the award for Team USA Badminton. Holds a Master's degree in Health & Physical Education and has 24 years of elite coaching experience.

Adult Track
We built Frisco for every player — not just juniors on the national-team track. Our adult programs are full-featured: recreational, intermediate, and competitive adult leagues, all with the same Olympic-level coaching.

Pattern recognition, anticipation, and working two moves ahead — the same cognitive skills that win badminton rallies also win chess games. We offer a complementary chess program for our junior players, taught by experienced instructors at the Frisco HQ.

Team USA Para Badminton Player / FBA Para Badminton Advisor
From tragedy to triumph — in 1996, a car accident left Amy Burnett paralyzed, altering the course of her life. Yet amidst the adversity, she found a newfound strength and determination. In 2016, she discovered para-badminton, and the sport's combination of skill, strategy, and physical demands resonated deeply. She quickly established herself as a formidable force in the WH1 category, representing the United States at the Parapan American Games, World Para-Badminton Championships, and numerous international tournaments. Beyond her athletic achievements, Burnett is a passionate advocate for para-sports and disability rights, using her platform to raise awareness, inspire others, and challenge stereotypes.

Head Coach
Coach Della has many years of coaching experience, working with numerous young players at various levels. Over the past 11 years, she has coached, sparred, and worked with players in different age groups, providing her with even more motivation to continue fulfilling her students' dreams of becoming top players at national and international levels. A former Indonesian National Team member and Djarum Badminton Club product, Della brings elite-level competitive experience to her coaching at Frisco Badminton Academy, where she has served as Head Coach since 2021.

Elite Player
Prabu Wenang Pitutur is an experienced badminton player and coach with a career spanning Indonesia, Malaysia, China, India, and the United States. As a player, he has earned multiple national and international achievements, including junior doubles titles in Indonesia and semifinal finishes in major U.S. tournaments such as the Chicago Open and Austin Open.

Elite Player
Choirunnisa is a former Indonesia National Team player (2017–2021) who joined Frisco Badminton in 2022. She began her career at Mutiara Bandung Badminton Club (2012–2016) before earning national team selection. At her peak she reached #10 in BWF Junior Rankings and #56 in BWF World Rankings in women's singles. A dominant force on the Indonesian Djarum National Circuit with multiple singles and doubles titles, she also competed at the Asia Junior Championship, World Junior Championship, and Badminton Asia Championship. Since moving to the USA, Choirunnisa has continued her winning ways — claiming multiple titles at the Austin Open, MBC Chicago Open, and NVBC Open, and reaching the semifinals of the 2024 Yonex Frisco Open.

Elite Player
Aníbal Marroquín is a leading Guatemalan badminton player, recognized for his success in men's and mixed doubles. He is a two-time Central American and Caribbean Games gold medalist and won bronze in men's doubles at the 2023 Pan American Games. Known for his consistent international performances, Marroquín remains a key figure in Guatemalan badminton with numerous titles and podium finishes in BWF International Challenge and Series tournaments.

Elite Player
Jauza Fadhila Sugiarto is a professional Indonesian badminton player from Jakarta, specializing in women's doubles and singles. She comes from a prominent badminton family — the youngest child of former World Champion Icuk Sugiarto and younger sister of elite men's singles player Tommy Sugiarto. Affiliated with the Jaya Raya Jakarta club, Jauza achieved a career-high #1 BWF Junior World Ranking in girls' doubles and reached #26 in senior women's doubles. A former Indonesia National Team member (2017–2019), she is recognized for achievements at both junior and senior levels, including runner-up at the 2017 World Junior Championship and winner of the 2024 Yonex Frisco Open women's doubles.

Elite Player
Panji Akbar Sudrajat is an accomplished Indonesian badminton player born on January 27, 1994. He has represented Indonesia in both men's singles and mixed doubles events, accumulating 57 career wins on the international circuit. A product of Indonesia's elite junior system, Panji earned bronze at the Asia Junior Championship and World Junior Championship before transitioning to senior competition. He represented Team Indonesia at the World Universiade in Taipei. Since joining Frisco Badminton, he has dominated the US circuit — winning the 2023 Yonex Frisco Open men's singles and the 2024 Yonex Dave Freeman Open.
